How to start preparation for campus placements




The campus placements season will start in the final year of your graduation course  and I hope all who are eligible for campus placements this is right time for you to start preparation.  The one who are in third / final year you have  plan to prepare for the placements. This placements season is going to be a bit tighter than the previous seasons given the current economic situations and the general slow-down in hiring. Only the best of the best will have the chance at grabbing the jobs and that means, the ones who start preparing earlier will be ahead of the competition.

 

I decided to say the general preparation tips which i followed during my placement period   that will help you crack the  placements season. The preparation will start with some survey

1. List  which companies visit your college for placements? (Viz. Infosys, wipro, Cognizant, ABB, L&T and so on)

2. What are the recruitment procedures for each of the companies?

3. What is the general intake? For example, there are colleges where the big IT companies recruit in hundreds! This will help you decide the level of competition you're likely to face.

4. What is the eligibility criteria? This is very important because it will help you eliminate the companies you should be preparing for.
         In some of the colleges they call as DAY 0, DAY 1,DAY2.
DAY 0:-(PRODUCT COMPANIES OR DREAM COMPANIES)
These are product based companies . their package is high compare to DAY1,DAY2.
Pay  around (5-11) lakhs per annum  based on company preference.
 the entrance test are purely checks your ability on logical thinking. they prefer the candidate my be good in both technical and software.   
companies like :- GOOGLE, FLIP KART, AMAZON, JOHN SON, MICROSOFT,ETC,.
 
 
DAY1:-(SERVICES COMPANIES)
These are services based companies . these companies are also called as bulk recruit companies.
companies like :-Infosys, wipro, Cognizant, Tech mahendra , L&T etc,.)
pay around (3-3.5 )lakhs per annum  based on company preference.
The entrance test are purely checks your  logical skills.
 
DAY2:- (BPO COMPANIES)
Companies like :- Genpact ,WNS Global services,Just dail etc,.   
pay around (2.5-3)lakhs per annum  based on company preference.
these companies check your English and way of your communication skills.
